Cristiano Adacher

Cristiano Adacher was the singer of Rhapsody's early phase, before Fabio Lione came in. His work covers the band's formative period, when Luca Turilli and Alex Staropoli were developing the conception that would become Italian symphonic power metal — a combination of speed, orchestral arrangements and epic fantasy narrative. It was territory without precedent, and the definition of what the voice should do within it was still open. The group would find its vocal identity with Lione, whose operatic register and ability to play characters within continuous narratives became a constitutive part of the work. But the earlier recordings document the moment when the band was still seeking that form. His later path is thinly documented, a common situation among musicians from the early line-ups of groups that gained recognition in a subsequent phase.
