Artist

Manu Lotter

Manu Lotter was Rhapsody of Fire's drummer between 2016 and 2020, in the period when the band was consolidating its line-up under Alex Staropoli's leadership. He came in replacing Alex Holzwarth, who had held the role for sixteen years and recorded the group's best-known albums. Taking that position meant reproducing a repertoire built on continuous double kick, orchestral sections and frequent changes of tempo — a combination demanding physical endurance and structural reading in equal measure. He recorded The Eighth Mountain (2019), the first album of a new narrative saga begun by Staropoli, and took part in the tours of that period. He left the band in 2020, replaced by Paolo Marchesich.
