Arjan Rijnen — Dutch guitarist — was part of ReVamp, the band Floor Jansen kept going between 2009 and 2016. The project was born after After Forever ended and marked an aesthetic turn. In place of symphonic metal with lyric soprano and written orchestration, ReVamp worked with heavy riffs, rawer production and lyrics of personal content. The two records, ReVamp (2010) and Wild Card (2013), show a singer known for her technical command using her voice more aggressively and less operatically. For the guitarists that meant room.
