Dominique Leurquin is a French guitarist tied to Rhapsody of Fire in studio and live roles across several phases of the band. His position reflects a peculiarity of the group. Rhapsody's records are built in layers: overlaid rhythm guitars, harmonies in several voices, doubled lines and arrangements conceived as an orchestral score. Reproducing that onstage requires more players than the nominal line-up holds, and musicians like Leurquin cover that gap. His function alongside Luca Turilli and later Roby De Micheli is rhythm guitar — holding the harmonic ground at high speed while the lead guitarist plays the neoclassical melodic lines that characterise the genre. It is work of precision and endurance, with no room for variation. He has also worked on Turilli's side projects and on other recordings of the European power metal scene.
