Adam Wakeman

Adam Wakeman has been the keyboardist and guitarist in Ozzy Osbourne's band since 2004, and is one of the longest-serving musicians in the singer's backing line-up. Born in England in 1974, he is the son of Rick Wakeman, keyboardist of Yes — an origin that explains his training and, at the same time, makes the discretion with which he built his own career the more notable. His live function is among the most invisible and the most necessary. Ozzy's repertoire, both solo and Black Sabbath's, was recorded across four decades with layers of keyboards, orchestration and arrangement that a four-piece band cannot reproduce on its own. Wakeman fills that space, often out of the audience's line of sight, alternating between keyboards and rhythm guitar as the music requires. He also accompanied Black Sabbath on the reunion tours, including the farewell, The End, in 2017, and took part in the group's studio recordings. Outside that circuit he keeps up his own work in projects ranging from progressive rock to instrumental music, and has collaborated with his father on records and performances. He was at Ozzy's farewell show in Birmingham in July 2025, closing more than twenty years of work alongside the singer.
