Dani Löble

Dani Löble has been Helloween's drummer since 2005, when he replaced Mark Cross — the second longest-serving on the instrument, behind only Ingo Schwichtenberg. Born in 1973, he came from Rawhead Rexx, and his arrival steadied a position the band had been changing frequently since the early 1990s. His job is to keep a tradition alive without turning it into imitation. The rhythmic pattern Schwichtenberg created on the Keeper albums is the foundation of the repertoire Helloween plays every night, and the challenge for whoever sits on that stool is to execute it with the original energy without sounding like a copy. Löble solves this with sharper technique and a more modern sound, while keeping the group's characteristic pulse. He debuted on Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy (2005) and has since recorded everything that followed, including Gambling with the Devil (2007), 7 Sinners (2010), Straight Out of Hell (2013), My God-Given Right (2015) and the albums of the expanded line-up, Helloween (2021) and Giants & Monsters (2025). The 2016 reunion gave him an unusual task: to carry alone, behind seven musicians, a repertoire spanning four decades and three different singers, alternating material written for bands with quite distinct approaches to composition.
