Inferno — born in Poland in 1978, given name Zbigniew Promiński — is Behemoth's drummer, with two spells in the band, and one of the most technical players in European extreme metal. He has been in Behemoth since the second half of the 1990s and recorded practically the group's entire relevant discography, from Pandemonic Incantations (1998) to The Shit Ov God (2025), including Demigod (2005), Evangelion (2009) and The Satanist (2014). His playing is what sustains the band's stylistic transition. Behemoth stopped being black metal and came to practise a synthesis with death metal, a format demanding far more of the drums than speed: continuous blast beats alternated with mid-tempo sections, complex fills and changes of metre within the same track. Demigod is frequently cited as a drumming reference in the genre for its precision and for the clarity of every stroke at extreme speed. It is physical endurance and articulation at once — a combination that made him a recurring name in lists of the best extreme metal drummers, and one of the reasons Behemoth sounds monumental rather than merely fast.
