Mat Stancioiu — drummer of Vision Divine's initial line-up — was in the band during the period when it stopped being treated as a Labÿrinth side project and came to have an identity of its own. He recorded at the beginning of the group's discography, a phase in which the repertoire already showed the marks Vision Divine would keep: long structures, changes of tempo within the same track, and a keyboard that shared the front line with the guitar rather than accompanying it. For the drums, that means steering the piece through sections that change character, and not merely holding a fixed tempo. He is also one of the several drummers who passed through the band — Vision Divine had more changes in that position than in any other, and Stancioiu opens the sequence.
