Ricky Quagliato — Vision Divine's drummer between 2005 and 2006 — was in the band during the recording of The Perfect Machine (2005). It was the record that closed the interval with Michele Luppi on vocals, before Fabio Lione's return. A short period, but at a turning point: Vision Divine was coming from Stream of Consciousness (2004), a concept album of continuous structure, and The Perfect Machine brought more direct and compact tracks, demanding of the rhythm section an approach different from what the previous record asked. Quagliato belongs to the long line of drummers who passed through the band — the position in which Vision Divine had more turnover than in any other, with at least six different musicians across its history.
