Rodrigo Silveira — Brazilian drummer — was part of the final line-up of Andre Matos's solo band, between 2015 and 2019. Drumming in Matos's repertoire has to cover wide territory. His material runs from fast power metal — a direct inheritance from Angra and Viper — to progressive passages in irregular metre and orchestral stretches where percussion works for dynamics rather than speed. It is a repertoire demanding the reading of arrangement as much as physical endurance. This line-up accompanied Matos on tours where he performed not only the solo material but also the Angra and Shaman repertoire — the bands that made him one of Brazilian metal's best-known voices. Playing that catalogue means reproducing recordings the audience knows note for note. Matos died in June 2019. The band that was with him in that phase closed its working cycle, and the records of those performances are the last documentation of his activity on stage.
