André Leite

André Leite — Brazilian vocalist — was part of Hangar during the band's acoustic and transitional phase, in the early 2010s. That period has a character of its own in the group's history. After Infallible (2009), Hangar assembled an acoustic format — an unusual decision for a power metal band, a genre that depends on volume, distortion and fast tempo to work. Reducing that repertoire to acoustic arrangements means exposing the melody without the weight that normally supports it, and the voice is left entirely uncovered. It is a test many singers in the genre do not pass: without the electric band's sonic mass, any imprecision of pitch or phrasing becomes audible. Leite held the microphone in exactly that format. His spell precedes Pedro Campos's arrival in 2013 and the line-up that would record Stronger Than Ever (2016), closing the most undefined interval in Hangar's path.
