Alissa White-Gluz

Alissa White-Gluz gained prominence in The Agonist, a band she founded in Montreal in 2004. On the albums Once Only Imagined, Lullabies for the Dormant Mind and Prisoners, she developed the combination that would define her career: aggressive gutturals, clean vocals and a physically intense stage presence. The mix of melodic death metal, metalcore and progressive elements has placed his name among the most versatile vocalists of the generation. In 2014, he replaced Angela Gossow on Arch Enemy and debuted in War Eternal. During eleven years, he also recorded Will to Power, Deceivers and Blood Dynasty, expanding the band's projection and gradually introducing more clean vocals to the repertoire. Its image became inseparable from the group's modern phase, but the partnership ended in November 2025, ending a period marked by extensive tours, major festivals and a strong international presence. The departure opened a more authorial phase. Alissa began her solo career with “The Room Where She Died”, launched Blue Medusa and, in 2026, joined DragonForce as the band’s new vocalist and first frontwoman. The change expands a path that was never restricted to death metal: its strength lies precisely in the contrast between brutality, technique and melodic interpretation. More than a throaty vocalist, Alissa has become one of the most recognizable and influential figures in contemporary metal.
