BrazilBrazilFlávio Pascarillo — Brazilian drummer — was part of Tribuzy, the band formed in Rio de Janeiro by vocalist Renato Tribuzy. Execution (2005), the group's record, is an uncommon case in national production: a classic heavy metal concept album recorded in Brazil with appearances by established international musicians. For the project's Brazilian instrumentalists that meant recording on equal footing with names that served the whole scene as reference. Drums in heavy metal of classic descent work differently from power metal: less continuous double bass, more variation of feel and emphasis on groove. It is the 1980s British model — support the riff without competing with it. Tribuzy also left a live recording with guests. The body of work is small, but it documents a moment when part of the Brazilian scene decided not to wait for external validation to produce at international standard.
