Jordan Fish

Jordan Fish — British keyboard player, producer and songwriter — was part of Bring Me the Horizon between 2012 and 2023, and is chiefly responsible for the band's transformation. His entry coincides with Sempiternal (2013), the record on which Bring Me the Horizon stopped being a metalcore band with electronic elements and became something else. Fish brought synthesizers, programming, keyboard arrangements and a conception of pop production applied to heavy repertoire — and began co-writing the material with Oliver Sykes, becoming the group's second central author. The effect is audible in the run that followed: That's the Spirit (2015) almost entirely abandoned the guttural vocal; amo (2019) took in electronic pop without embarrassment; the band began filling stadiums with an audience far beyond metal. No other group in the circuit made that crossing so broadly, and it is inseparable from his presence. His departure in 2023 was one of the most discussed events in British heavy rock that year — precisely because, for much of the audience, Fish had stopped being a keyboard player and become half of Bring Me the Horizon's creative process.
