Max Kolesne — Brazilian drummer — is a co-founder of Krisiun and one of the most respected death metal drummers in the world. Krisiun was born in 1990 in Ijuí, a town in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul with no scene, no studio and no structure whatsoever for extreme metal. Three brothers put the band together and remain in it today — thirty-five years without a single line-up change, something practically unheard of in the genre. Kolesne's drumming is the engine of the band's sound. Krisiun's death metal is built on blast beats sustained at extreme speed, with a precision maintained from the first minute of a record to the last. No studio trick or editing produces that: it is direct execution, and it is what placed his name among the genre's technical references worldwide. Twelve records, from Black Force Domain (1995) to Mortem Solis (2022), and tours on every continent. Krisiun is proof that a band can reach the international extreme metal circuit from the Brazilian interior, without taking any of the usual routes.
