Kiske/Somerville

Kiske/Somerville is a melodic rock and heavy metal duet project conceived in late 2009 by Frontiers Records, born from an idea by label president Serafino Perugino. Rather than a touring band, it was assembled as a studio collaboration, with bassist-producer Mat Sinner and guitarist/keyboardist Magnus Karlsson writing and shaping the material around the two singers. The project unites German vocalist Michael Kiske, best known as the voice of Helloween during the "Keeper of the Seven Keys" era, with American-born, Germany-based singer and vocal coach Amanda Somerville, whose credits include Aina, Trillium, HDK, and extensive work with Epica, Kamelot and After Forever. The debut album, "Kiske/Somerville," arrived in September 2010 after roughly eighteen months of work. A second album, "City of Heroes," followed in April 2015, widely seen as a more confident, better-integrated record than the debut, balancing power metal drive with radio-friendly hard rock. No further releases have followed.
