Cristiano Wortmann

Cristiano Wortmann — Brazilian guitarist — founded Hangar in 1997 alongside drummer Aquiles Priester, and passed through the band in different periods across its history. Hangar was born at a specific moment in Brazilian metal: Angra had just projected the country onto the international power metal circuit, and bands appeared willing to occupy that space with material of their own rather than imitation. Wortmann is the guitarist of that founding, present on Last Time (1999), the debut record. His function in the repertoire comes from the melodic power metal school Hangar practised: fast riffs in quick metre, harmonies in thirds with the second guitar, and solos built on the harmonic progression — a vocabulary demanding precision of execution at high tempo and exact understanding with the drummer. His comings and goings follow the band's irregular path, which crossed six different singers, hiatuses and resumptions across almost three decades.
