Cameron Liddell — British guitarist — was part of Asking Alexandria for more than a decade, forming with Ben Bruce the band's guitar pair. He was in the group from its early years and recorded the albums that established Asking Alexandria among the most listened-to names in British metalcore, as well as crossing the two changes of vocalist that almost ended the band: Danny Worsnop's departure in 2015, Denis Stoff's spell and Worsnop's return in 2016. His function was rhythm guitar — holding the harmonic structure while Bruce occupied the foreground with riffs and solos. In a repertoire built on alternation between heavy breakdowns and melodic choruses, that role is what ensures the song does not fall apart in the passage from one section to another. His stay also covers the group's change of direction from The Black (2016), when the sound became progressively more melodic and less extreme — a crossing most British bands of his generation made over the 2010s.
