Floor Jansen

Floor Jansen consolidated her reputation in After Forever, a band she joined at the age of 16. Over the course of five albums, their classical training and ability to alternate between lyrical singing, rock vocals and more aggressive registers helped define the first generation of Dutch symphonic metal. After the group ended, he founded ReVamp, a heavier and more direct project, with which he released two albums before taking on bigger commitments with Nightwish. Called up in 2012 to complete the Nightwish tour, Floor became an official member the following year. Its technical breadth allowed the band to revisit repertoires originally recorded by Tarja Turunen and Anette Olzon without relying on imitation of either of them. In the studio, he participated in Endless Forms Most Beautiful, Human. :II: Nature. and Yesterwynde, adapting power, delicacy and theatricality to Tuomas Holopainen's compositions. Floor's strength is not just in her vocal range, but in her dynamic control and ability to change language without losing identity. It can lead an operatic passage, an arena chorus, a pop ballad or a harsh vocal with the same confidence, preventing versatility from becoming a simple technical demonstration. This combination of discipline, stage presence and interpretation has made her one of the most complete vocalists in contemporary metal.
