Henny Wolter

Henny Wolter is a German guitarist who was part of Primal Fear across two separate spells, including the band's earliest period. Born in 1964, he is a decade older than most of his line-up companions, and came to the group with a career already made on the German hard rock and heavy metal scene, in bands including Thunderhead. He was in the line-up that recorded the debut, Primal Fear (1998), and Jaws of Death (1999) — the two albums on which the band was still looking for its format, with a rawer sound closer to 1980s British heavy metal than to the broad production that would characterise its later records. He later returned for another period with the group. His role was that of rhythm and harmony guitarist within a band that, from the outset, organised itself around two guitars. That arrangement is what makes Primal Fear's layered choruses possible, and he was among those who established it. He remained active in other projects after leaving the band for good.
