João Milliet — Brazilian guitarist — was part of the final line-up of Andre Matos's solo band, between 2015 and 2019. It is the last working phase of one of the most important singers in the history of Brazilian metal. Matos had passed through Viper and Angra — the two bands that established Brazilian metal as a real possibility — and through Shaman, before building a career under his own name from 2007. The guitar in this repertoire works inside dense arrangements. Matos's material combines power metal, progressive elements and orchestration of classical influence, which means the guitar shares space with keyboards, choirs and strings, and must find its position without overloading the whole. Matos died in June 2019, aged 47. The band accompanying him in that period — Milliet among its members — was the last he worked with, and the concerts by that line-up are the final record of his life on stage.
