Kleber Ramalho

Brazil

Kleber Ramalho — Brazilian vocalist — is one of the voices of Soulspell, the metal opera conceived by drummer and composer Heleno Vale. The format asks of a singer something an ordinary band does not. Each Soulspell record is a narrative act with characters distributed among several performers; the vocalist takes a role inside someone else's story and must deliver it without his personal stamp disorganising the whole. It is interpretive work in the theatrical sense of the word. Since 2008 Soulspell has gathered casts of Brazilian and international guests across five acts: A Legacy of Honor, The Labyrinth of Truths, Hollow's Gathering, The Second Big Bang and Act V — Spirits of Ghosts (2025). Projects like this work as a meeting point for an entire scene. Around one authorial work they gather musicians who would otherwise never record together — and it is that circulation, as much as the records, that makes Soulspell a relevant case in Brazilian metal.
