Marc Hudson — born in England in 1987 — has been DragonForce's vocalist since 2011, and has already outlasted the band's original singer in time served. His arrival came by an unusual route: he was chosen by audition after the group circulated videos of him on the internet, at 23 and without an established career. Taking the microphone of a band that had just sold millions with "Through the Fire and Flames" under those conditions is a rare situation. He has since recorded five albums — The Power Within (2012), Maximum Overload (2014), Reaching into Infinity (2017), Extreme Power Metal (2019) and Warp Speed Warriors (2024) — more than any other vocalist in DragonForce's history. The technical demand of the role is among the harshest in the genre: keeping pitch, diction and breath in a high register over a repertoire played above 200 beats per minute, for a whole show. Hudson has sustained that for more than a decade, and his stay gave DragonForce the vocal stability the band lacked in the preceding years.
