Marina La Torraca — Brazilian vocalist — is part of Exit Eden and one of the Brazilian singers with the most established career in European symphonic metal. Exit Eden is a project of unusual conception: symphonic metal singers re-recording widely circulated pop songs in heavy, orchestral arrangements. Rhapsodies in Black (2017) was the debut, with four vocalists sharing the repertoire; Femmes Fatales (2024) followed, with a trio line-up. La Torraca's participation matters for a concrete reason. Symphonic metal is a largely European circuit, with label structure, production and audience concentrated in Germany, the Netherlands and Finland. Reaching that circuit from Brazil requires moving country and building a network — and few Brazilian women have done it. Besides Exit Eden she works in other projects from the same milieu. Her voice combines wide range with good articulation in the middle register, which lets her move between dramatic repertoire and pop-derived material without sounding out of place in either.
