Parker Lundgren

Parker Lundgren — American guitarist — was Queensrÿche's guitarist between 2009 and 2021, a period including the most turbulent phase in the band's history. He joined while Queensrÿche still had Geoff Tate on vocals and stayed through the 2012 rupture, when the band split into two groups using the same name — a legal dispute that ended with Tate continuing separately and the rest of the line-up keeping the name Queensrÿche, now with Todd La Torre. That context defines his time there. Lundgren recorded both material from the earlier phase and the records of the rebuilding, including the self-titled album of 2013 and those that followed, on which the band deliberately returned to the 1980s and 1990s sound that had made its reputation. Queensrÿche is one of progressive metal's founding bands, alongside Fates Warning and Dream Theater. Playing its guitar means performing a reference repertoire the audience knows in detail — and, in this particular case, doing so while the band's very identity was being disputed in court.
