Thiago Bianchi

Thiago Bianchi is a Brazilian vocalist, vocal coach and record producer, born in São Paulo on 18 June 1979. He grew up inside music: his mother, Maria Odette Bianchi, was an MPB singer in the 1960s and his father, João Vitto Colunna, a drummer. He began performing as a teenager with Stonehenge and, in the second half of the 1990s, co-founded Karma, a progressive metal band that released "Inside the Eyes" and "Leave Now!!!" and became a cult name in the São Paulo scene. In parallel he sang on Firesign's "The Top of the Mountain" (2001), an album that charted in Japan. In 2007 he took on one of the hardest jobs in Brazilian metal: replacing Andre Matos as frontman of Shaman, the band led by drummer Ricardo Confessori. He recorded "Immortal" (2007), the live album "AnimeAlive" (2008) and "Origins" (2010), touring internationally until 2013, when he and the rest of the lineup split from Confessori and continued as Noturnall, alongside drummer Aquiles Priester. Noturnall, which he has fronted since its 2014 debut album, is his main band and has toured Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Americas, including long runs backing Paul Di'Anno. His singing is marked by a wide range and a bright, powerful high register in the melodic metal tradition, alongside aggressive and clean textures that let him move between power, progressive and modern metal. He is equally known as a producer: he runs Estúdio Fusão in São Paulo, has produced hundreds of records for Brazilian and international artists, and teaches vocal technique. He survived cancer in his twenties and a near-fatal bout of pancreatitis in 2016. Through 2025 and 2026 he remains active with Noturnall, the reunited Karma and the All Metal Stars project honouring Andre Matos, and was voted best vocalist of 2025 by Roadie Crew magazine.
