Andrea Torricini

Andrea Torricini — Italian bassist known as Tower — was part of Vision Divine's original line-up, assembled by Olaf Thörsen in 1998, and returned to the band in later phases. He was in the foundation of the first record, Vision Divine (1999), made when the group was still treated as a Labÿrinth side project and had to prove it had an identity of its own. His presence in the early line-ups coincides with the definition of the sound the band would practise afterwards: darker and more progressive than the melodic power metal of the Italian circuit at the time. Torricini belongs to the same generation of musicians from Trieste and northern Italy that sustained the country's melodic metal through the 1990s and 2000s, a period in which a relatively small local scene produced bands of European reach — Labÿrinth, Rhapsody, Vision Divine — with a core of players circulating among them.
