César Talarico

César Talarico — Brazilian bassist — was the bassist of the line-up that recorded Faces (2004), Symbols's third and last studio album. Faces is a record of particular circumstance. Symbols had lost its vocalist in 2001, Edu Falaschi, called up to take over Angra's vocals — the most visible vacancy in Brazilian metal at the time. Rather than fold, the band reorganised: Demian Tiguez, guitarist since the start, took over the singing, and a new line-up was built around him. Talarico comes in at that point. Making a record under such conditions is a decision of productive stubbornness. Faces exists because part of the group refused to treat the singer's departure as the end of the line — and the rhythm section is exactly what has to be steady while everything else is being rebuilt. Symbols wound down shortly afterwards, with a reunion of the classic line-up in 2012.
