Cristiano Bertocchi — Italian bassist — was part of Vision Divine between 2006 and 2012, crossing three albums: The 25th Hour (2007), 9 Degrees West of the Moon (2009) and Destination Set to Nowhere (2012). His period coincides with the band's most unstable phase in vocal terms — Fabio Lione's return and his second departure — and with the group's most structurally ambitious record, The 25th Hour, a concept album built as continuous narrative. In a repertoire of that kind, the bass and drum foundation has to sustain frequent changes of tempo and sections that join without pause, a demand distinct from that of separate songs. Bertocchi has a wider path in Italian metal, with spells in other bands of the circuit, and brought to Vision Divine the experience of someone who had already worked in diverse formats — which matters in a band combining power metal, progressive metal and neoclassical arrangements within the same track.
