Erik Jensen — guitarist — is part of Escape the Fate's recent line-up, alongside Craig Mabbitt and founding drummer Robert Ortiz. The band he plays in today is the result of a long refining. Formed in Las Vegas in 2004 and propelled by the post-hardcore of Dying Is Your Latest Fashion (2006), Escape the Fate survived the loss of its original singer, rebuilt itself with Mabbitt from This War Is Ours (2008) onwards, and reached the 2020s with eight albums and a repertoire settled on heavy rock with open choruses. The guitar's function in this configuration is twofold: to reproduce live nearly twenty years of material from quite distinct sonic phases, and at the same time to contribute to what the band records now, on albums such as Chemical Warfare (2021) and Out of the Shadows (2023).
