Joff Bailey

Joff Bailey — Cradle of Filth's guitarist since 2026 — is the most recent member of the British band. He joins a group with more than three decades of history, fourteen studio albums and a long list of musicians who have passed through the guitar position. Dani Filth is the only permanent element since 1991; every other chair has been held by successions. The role carries a double demand. The riff in Cradle of Filth is not accompaniment: it has a clear melodic line inherited from traditional heavy metal, and it is what allows the repertoire to carry orchestrations, choirs and Filth's theatrical voice without dissolving into noise. Beyond that, the catalogue to be played live was written by different musicians across thirty years — from The Principle of Evil Made Flesh (1994) to The Screaming of the Valkyries (2025) — and has to sound like the work of a single band.
