Luka Broderick — Croatian bassist — has been part of the band Jelusick since its formation in 2023. The group is the authored project of Dino Jelusick, a singer, keyboard player and composer who also works in Whitesnake, and plays hard rock of classic structure with contemporary production. In that format the bass's function is support and groove — not speed or technical display, but the exact placing of the note together with the drums, which is what gives weight to a song of direct structure. It is a specific school, inherited from the hard rock of the 1970s and 1980s: the bass does not double the guitar in unison as in metal, but works in the articulation between riff and kick drum, with room to breathe between the notes. Done well, it is imperceptible; done badly, the whole track loses its floor. Broderick recorded Follow the Blind Man (2023) and Apolitical Ecstasy (2025), the band's two albums so far, as part of a Croatian line-up that has begun to move in the international heavy rock circuit — a recent path for musicians from the region.
