Monte Money — American guitarist — was Escape the Fate's lead guitarist in the phase following Ronnie Radke's departure, and one of the people who rebuilt the band. He came in replacing his brother, Michael Money, guitarist of the original line-up, and took the position at the group's most critical moment: the making of This War Is Ours (2008), the first record with Craig Mabbitt on vocals. That album's success is what secured Escape the Fate's continuation — and the shift in language it represents, from raw post-hardcore to a more melodic, wide-chorus rock, runs largely through the guitar work. He was also on the self-titled record of 2010, the band's furthest-reaching commercially, with more direct riffs and solos built for arenas. He left the group in 2012. It is only a few years, but they correspond exactly to the period in which Escape the Fate decided whether it would survive the loss of its original singer — and it did.
