Nando Fernandes built his career on the Brazilian hard rock and heavy metal circuit with a powerful, rough voice strongly influenced by the great vocalists of the 1970s and 1980s. Before his national recognition, he worked in bands such as Cavalo Vapor, Shining Star and Rádio Show, in addition to working on advertising recordings, television programs and different tribute projects. This extensive trajectory has formed a versatile performer, equally comfortable in melodic metal, hard rock and classical repertoire. His most notable work came with Hangar. Chosen to take over the vocals after a long selection process, he recorded The Reason of Your Conviction in 2007, a darker and more progressive album than the band's previous albums. His interpretation brought drama to the compositions and helped transform the album into one of the most respected records in the group's discography. Nando left Hangar after the tour in 2008, but his stint remains one of the highlights of his career. Later, he was part of projects such as Soulspell, Lightning Strikes and Brother Against Brother, a partnership with Renan Zonta launched by Frontiers. He also replaced Fabio Lione in Angra performances and participated in Brazilian tours with Vinny Appice. In Sinistra, alongside Edu Ardanuy, Luis Mariutti and Rafael Rosa, he found a project with a more direct, heavy identity and sung in Portuguese. Nando Fernandes belongs to a rare category in national metal: vocalists capable of supporting different bands without losing their own timbre along the way.
