Renato Tribuzy — Brazilian vocalist — gave his name to Tribuzy, the band that gathered in Rio de Janeiro an improbable cast of international musicians around a single record. Execution (2005) is a singular case in Brazilian metal. Tribuzy wrote a concept album and managed to record it with appearances by first-rank names of European and American metal, alongside the Brazilian band backing him. Few national artists have assembled anything of that scale from Brazil, and fewer still on a debut. His voice is high and powerful, in the classic heavy metal tradition — the line running from Rob Halford to Bruce Dickinson — and the repertoire is straight heavy metal, without the ornaments of the melodic power metal dominating the Brazilian scene of the 2000s. Tribuzy also recorded a live album with guests, documenting what the band could do on stage. It is a small discography, but of uncommon ambition for the context in which it was produced.
