Alicia Vigil — born in the United States in 1991 — is DragonForce's bassist, initially on tour and later an official member of the band. Her own path is that of a player with an authored project: she leads Vigil of War, a metal band in which she signs composition and bass, and she did not come to DragonForce as a hired sidewoman, but as a musician with a repertoire and a name established in the American circuit. The role in DragonForce carries a specific demand. The bass has to follow in unison guitars played above 200 beats per minute, keeping clean articulation in passages many bassists would resolve by simplifying — something immediately audible when it happens. It is work of endurance and precision, sustained across whole shows on world tours. Her presence also changed the band's composition: DragonForce was for two decades an all-male line-up, and Vigil is the first woman to hold a permanent position in the group.
