Benhur Lima

Benhur Lima — Brazilian bassist and producer — had different spells in Hibria and returned to the band in the line-up presented in 2026. His double function is what sets him apart. Besides playing, he works as a producer — an activity that in Brazilian metal carries disproportionate weight: without major-label structure, it often falls to the musicians themselves to handle recording, mixing and finishing of the records. Whoever combines both competences ends up being a structural piece of more than one band in the circuit. In Hibria he steps into a repertoire that does not make things easy for the bass. The band works with riffs of technical cut, changes of metre and structures that abandon the predictable formula — the opposite of symphonic power metal, in which the bass doubles the guitar in unison and vanishes into the mass. Here the line has to articulate the turns together with the drums. His return in 2026 comes in the most radical reformulation in the group's history, the first without Iuri Sanson, the singer of twenty-one years' standing, with Abel Camargo as the only link to the original line-up.
