Charles Greywolf — born in Germany in 1975 — has been Powerwolf's bassist and guitarist since the founding in 2003, and co-founded the band alongside his brother Matthew. The two built Powerwolf as a closed conceptual project, not as a band that later adopted a theme: name, characters, inverted religious iconography, church organ and costume existed from the start and were never abandoned across ten albums. His function goes beyond the bass. Charles also records guitars and takes responsibility for the group's production — work that explains the sonic consistency of the discography, with recognisable timbres and a mix that gives simultaneous room to organ, choirs and guitars without any element covering the others. In a band whose formula depends on liturgical layers coexisting with heavy riff, that balance is a central technical problem. With Matthew, Attila Dorn and Falk Maria Schlegel, he is part of the core of four that has remained intact since 2003 — a stability practically no metal band with Powerwolf's reach has managed to keep for twenty years.
