Joe Lancaster

Joe Lancaster — British bassist — was part of Asking Alexandria in the initial line-up, in the period before the band's international recognition. He was in the group when it was still a project from York, in the north of England, with no significant contract and no audience beyond the local circuit. That phase precedes everything Asking Alexandria would be known for: the records that would place it among the most listened-to names in British metalcore, the international tours and the two changes of vocalist that would mark its history. It is the band's least documented period, one of rehearsals, home recordings and an unstable line-up — when Ben Bruce was still assembling the group that would play the combination of heavy breakdowns, melodic choruses and electronic elements that would define its sound. Lancaster belongs to that beginning, prior to the records and the professional structure that would come later.
