Lonny Eagleton — Black Veil Brides' bassist — is part of the band's current line-up, having succeeded Ashley Purdy. He took the position at a moment of transition. Purdy had been, for nearly a decade, one of the most visible figures of the group's stage identity — the theatrical presentation inherited from 1980s glam metal and shock rock that defined Black Veil Brides as much as its music.
