Petros Christodoulidis

Petros Christodoulidis — Greek bassist — has been part of Firewind since 2003, and is the band's second longest-standing element after founder Gus G. His stay of more than twenty years spans the group's entire relevant discography, from Forged by Fire (2005) to Stand United (2024), including the period when Gus G. divided his time with Ozzy Osbourne's band, between 2009 and 2017. In a band that had five singers and several changes of drummer, that continuity is what sustained the rhythmic identity. The role carries a specific demand in Firewind's format. The repertoire is played at fast tempo, with keyboard and guitar occupying the foreground in alternating solos of neoclassical vocabulary. The bass has to keep the harmonic foundation audible beneath those layers and follow the guitars in unison through the fast passages — work noticed only when it fails. He is, with Gus G., one of the two Greeks who carried Firewind for two decades and kept it as the country's metal band with the widest international reach.
