Almah

Almah was born in 2006 as an Edu Falaschi project running alongside Angra. The debut album gathered international guests, but the idea took on an identity of its own with the lineup of *Fragile Equality* (2008): Marcelo Barbosa, Paulo Schroeber, Felipe Andreoli and Marcelo Moreira. With elaborate melodies, modern weight and lyrics drawn from social and philosophical themes, the record established the group as an actual band rather than an extension of its singer's career. On the records that followed, Almah avoided repeating a formula. *Motion* (2011) took on more aggressive guitars and contemporary elements; *Unfold* (2013) balanced that density with progressive structures and broader melodies. *E.V.O.* (2016) recovered part of the melodic metal atmosphere that marked Falaschi's path, without abandoning the heavy production and modern approach the band had developed. The five albums form a short discography, but one shaped by deliberate changes of direction. Though frequently tied to Falaschi's years in Angra, Almah developed a more direct, darker and more experimental language. It was also the space in which the musician took greater control over composition, production and artistic concept. Its importance lies less in commercial reach than in the freedom with which it moved between power metal, progressive and modern textures, recording one of the most personal phases of Falaschi's career.
